The Vessel
"Cheap Therapy Charters" is a 28-foot Bertram yacht. Built by the Bertram Yacht Company in 1977 and restored in 2022 bringing comfort and style. Her 11-foot-wide beam, and deep v style hull is a stable and safe platform when on the open ocean. Repowered in 2023 with twin 300 horsepower inboard engines she is both seaworthy and reliable. Ammonites include a dining area, running fresh water, plenty of seating, and a private restroom. Electronics include Wi-Fi, stereo, radar, sonar, GPS and VHF communications.

Cheap Therapy Charters is family operated and family oriented. Jen and Kyle grew up together on the island and have raised their children Alison and Jacob as second-generation islanders. Spending weekends together as a family sparked the idea of a family-oriented charter company that was more than just fishing and cruising. We wanted our

Spending weekends together as a family sparked the idea of a family-oriented charter company that was more than just fishing and cruising. We wanted our company to focus on the family fun aspect of boating. The idea of family fun on the water grew into a business.

Kyle is an islander who grew up living the island life. At age 15 he joined the Oak Bluffs Fire Department where he remains today as a Captain. A paramedic since 2010 and a contractor since 2004, Kyle is well rounded and capable of handling most any situation. Since 2010 Kyle has been a lead operator of the fire departments 36’ rescue bo

Kyle, a firefighter paramedic, would work on restoring boats as a stress reliever. While restoring his second boat Kyle always said, “Working on a boat is cheaper than going to therapy.” When completed, “Cheap Therapy” was launched in 2017. In 2022 the opportunity for a larger vessel came, which is the current “Cheap Therapy Charters.”
